The Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP) has said that they will continue their assistance and cooperation with Afghanistan in order to prevent an immediate humanitarian crisis. The statement was made by WFP Executive Director David Bezley during a meeting with Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Director General of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Earlier, Mottaki called on the international community to release Afghanistan’s frozen currency in a statement.

Beazley said they were all in Afghanistan working on a mechanism to distribute food and cash in exchange for work in the country, which, if implemented, would allow the money to flow into the market. And Afghanistan’s economy is on its feet to some extent.
